Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz and 340 Boxing are announcing that two of the territory’s champion fighters have signed with premiere boxing adviser Al Haymon!
Junior Middleweight contender John Jackson (19-2-0, 15 KOs), and his brother Super Middleweight prospect Julius Jackson (18-0, 14 KOs) both from St. Thomas, Virgin Islands and the sons of three time world Champion Julian “The Hawk” Jackson, have officially inked contracts with Haymon.
John Jackson is just coming off a unanimous decision win over seasoned veteran Carlos Adan Jerez in Cordoba, Argentina on a Sergio Martinez promoted card. John is currently ranked #5 by the World Boxing Council at 154Lbs. His older brother Julius, is the current WBA Fedebol Super Middleweight Champion and WBC USNBC Super Middleweight Champion. He is also ranked 16th by the WBC, #5 by the IBF, and #9 by the WBA. Julius Jackson will be making his Showtime Boxing debut on December 20th, against Jonathan Nelson in Shelton, Washington.
“I’m very delighted that my boys signed with Al Haymon,” Lewkowicz said. “We have always had a great relationship. I believe this is the best thing.”
“This is like adding the final and very important piece to a puzzle,” said Lesley Comissiong, Managing Partner at 340 Boxing, added Wednesday. “We are honored to be a part of the Haymon team, and this means only great things for our fighters,” she added.
Haymon’s vast stable continues to grow. He has at least 75 fighters under contract and some estimate his stable in excess of 100 fighters — including, of course, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr., Andrien Bronner and World Champion Danny Garcia.
“This relationship will mean a bright future for John and Julius,” Comissiong added. “Hopefully, World Championship opportunities will be in the near future for both fighters.”
